Description:
On the east side of the peristyle was a cult space. This comprised of a fountain structure flanked by two pilasters on which were the painted figures of Sarnus, resting his elbow on an overturned jar, and two serpents meeting at an altar. Also painted on these pilasters were the figures of Bacchus, Apollo, and Venus Pompeiana. The pilasters also depicted scenes of a laundry. The scenes were painted on a bright red background with darker red stripes framing the scenes on the edges of the pilasters.
