Above the hearth, on the east wall of the kitchen, was an arched niche. It sat 1.55m above the floor. The niche was decorated with a heavy stucco cornice, ornamented with an egg design in relief. The interior was plastered but left white, with the floor comprised of a tile that projected out of the niche. On the wall below the niche were two serpents moving towards an altar. The altar was painted in imitation red and yellow marble. The background of the scene was decorated by plants with red flowers. The scene has been dated to the fourth style.
